How-To: Setup Slack for Dockup Notifications

So, You’ve setup your Dockup and it's working all fine and dandy. And now, you’d like to send notifications to slack whenever a new deployment is made. Let me tell you, you’re at the right place. Let’s go on with it then.

  1. Create a Slack App

    • Click on create a New App

      Name: give it a recognisable name. I recommend Dockup

      Workspace: Select your workspace

    • Now, in your apps page (you’ll have been redirected here after above step), click on incoming webhooks

    • Enable Incoming Webhooks

    • Click Add New Webhook to Workspace at the bottom

    • Select the channel where you’d want dockup notifications to be sent and Authorize the request

    • Finally, copy the newly generated Webhooks url

  2. Configure Slack Webhook Url in dockup

    • Head over to getdockup.com/settings

    • Click on Manage Organization

    • Click on Configure Slack Webhook Url

    • Finally, paste the copied url in step 1 and click submit.

And that’s it. Now, you’ll get slack notifications for every new deployment created on your chosen slack channel.
